Accessibility statement

Outrun Extinction wants everyone to be able to use this site, whatever device or assistive technology they use. We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA.

How accessible this site is

This site can be used with a keyboard alone, with a screen reader, at 400% zoom and with your operating system's reduced-motion setting turned on. A control in the header stops every animation on the page. Every image that carries meaning has a text alternative, and every control has a name in the page's language.

Known limitations

We know some parts of the site fall short, and we are working through them:

• The photographs in the gallery have no descriptions yet.
• Copy over the hero photograph may not reach the 4.5:1 contrast ratio in every viewport.
• The feature videos are hosted on YouTube and rely on YouTube's own captions.

Enforcement

In the UK, the Equality and Human Rights Commission enforces the accessibility regulations for public sector bodies. Outrun Extinction is a private campaign site, not a public body, but we follow the same regulations regardless.
